I have vivid memories of wandering through beautiful gardens in Kyoto during the cherry blossom season some time ago. Visions of maikos wearing kimono, reflections of light over the Kamo river and falling blossom petals continue to inspire my abstracted imagery. "Marlowe" captures a moment when light, landscape and water blur together whilst a maiko hurries past. - Anne-Maree Wise
