‘The Calling’ started its journey as a semi abstract mountainous landscape but I soon realised it was going nowhere, it was pedestrian and stilted so out came my palette knife and big brushes to cover the canvas in a totally new direction, I had received the call from my inner self and it couldn’t be denied!
Received wisdom often dictates ‘less is more’ but with my quest for a joyous vision this steers me towards ‘more is more’ and that too much is sometimes just right!
It may not match your sofa but will bring a colourful focal point in your home or office.
The artwork, to some, may look like a cacophony or mishmash of hues thrown together in a random manner but I expend a lot of energy, with careful consideration, melding all the pieces of this ‘jigsaw puzzle’ into a cohesive manifestation of what I feel about the colour relationships and overall design with a sprinkling of ‘magical experimentation’ in abstraction.
Layered artist quality acrylics, oil stick and oil pastels on deep edge canvas 102cm x 76cm x 4cm.
Triple satin varnish coats to protect from UV and enhance colour depth.
This is an original, one of a kind artwork on stretched canvas and is ready to hang.
