I’m often inspired by simple things, like flowers in my garden. The Clivia is one of my favourite flowers and I get to enjoy in our garden every year. Although the final art piece actually looks nothing like the flower, the original inspiration was the deep orange that caught my eye. It was the starting point and the rest just flowed. That’s the part I enjoy the most, letting the colours evolve.
This painting is part of my 'Journey's series.
‘Journeys’ is a luminous maze of joyful colours that brings energy and impact to a space. Born out of a desire to paint through a period where I couldn’t travel, I took myself on a journey through exploring colour and shapes on the canvas. The result is a harmonious composition that takes you on your own uplifting journey that never ends...
